Acne or Rosacea?

It could be acne or, it could be another skin condition - rosacea. The symptoms of rosacea are somewhat different than acne. With rosacea, you may have flushing or redness on your face along with pimples, but you won’t have the characteristic blackheads of acne.
Skin is also more sensitive with rosacea. Breakouts or rosacea “flares” may be caused by heat, sunlight, wind, some medications, cosmetics, skin care products, alcohol and stress. Rosacea flares are usually different for each individual but the flares can be minimized.
Acne and rosacea skin conditions should be diagnosed by a board-certified dermatologist to ensure the appropriate care and treatment of the condition. If you do have rosacea-prone skin, our dermatologists can recommend medication (if needed), products and a suitable skin care routine for optimal skin health.

Meghan is a dedicated and experienced Licensed Aesthetician and Certified Laser Technician at our offices in Marstons Mills and Plymouth. Meghan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Curry College in 2017.
With a passion for skin care, Meghan continued her education at Spa Tech Institute of Plymouth and received certification in Medical Aesthetics in 2020.
Meghan is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in helping her patients meet their skincare goals and feel more confident and beautiful in their own skin. She provides a range of cosmetic services that include Hydrafacial, chemical peels and state-of-the-art laser treatments including Nordlys Platform with Frax Pro and RF Microneedling with MatrixPro.
Outside of the practice, Meghan enjoys running half marathons and supporting charity race events.
